Fr. Jeremiah Myriam Shryock, CFR grew up in Barto, PA. He graduated from Kutztown University in Kutztown, PA in 2002 with a degree in Philosophy. Later that year he entered the Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in 2002. In 2011, Timothy Cardinal Dolan ordained him a priest at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City. In 2014, Fr. Jeremiah completed studies in spiritual direction at Our Lady of Divine Providence Spiritual Direction School in Clearwater, FL. As a Franciscan he has lived in Texas, New Mexico, New York and New Jersey where he has served in various levels of formation in his community, ministered to the poor and homeless, and shared in the CFR mission of evangelization. He currently lives in his community’s House of Prayer in Monticello, NY where his primary ministry is prayer, spiritual direction, preaching parish missions and facilitating both group and private retreats throughout the country. Fr. Jeremiah has a zeal for bringing others closer to God. He has recorded over 30 podcasts on various aspects of faith and spirituality on “From the Friars Podcast”, has written a book entitled “Letters of Hope and Consolation” and has developed “Into the Deep Retreat” a contemplative retreat geared towards introducing people towards silent prayer.
